Changing of the seasons
And the arrival of the paywall :-)
Thanks to all those who’ve supported “Escaped from Cultivation” since I began this blog last March. This has been a grand experiment, for me, in rediscovering a “writerly” voice after spending nearly a decade doing nothing but academic writing.

I’ve relished the struggle, the wrestling with language. And I hope I can be forgiven for being coy about my identity without trying too hard to conceal it. The internet is wild and woolly these days, so I’ve been concerned to protect identities of the people I’ve been writing about as well as my own—all while engaging in a thoughtful way with the issues of the day as well as my own passion for Mother Earth and my various garden projects.
After 18 months, I feel this blog has an identity and a point of view. And I’m inviting you to join me behind the pay wall. I have plans for my paid subscribers including premium content, subscriber-only forums, and exclusive podcasts.
Again, thanks for sticking with me. And I hope to see you on the other side.
